Pages 11 and 12 of Adrift are done! I started page 11 on Oct 24th, and finished page 12 on Nov 9. Not too shabby!
I even had a large flat table and two friends willing to hold her flat at each end (thank you, Rika and Ashley) and I finally have a decent photo for you!
I can't believe how beautiful she is so far. Although I can say that updating my status bar by 8000 stitches, only to see a 3% increase in my status is a bit of an anti-climax. But 34% is still pretty good.
I'm off to stitch a page of Winter Hat Owl now. I'd post a photo, but there is literally nothing to see but blue. But I'm starting a new row after this one, so there might be some hat to show off soon. I will, of course, keep you posted!
Also, my sister sent me a photo of an angel I stitched for her a few years ago, before I started this blog. I believe she is the Peace Angel. Stitched 3 over 2 on the last bit of navy blue Lugana there was at the shop. A friend had actually bought the fabric, but she graciously let me have it. (Thanks Kari).
The blue doesn't really show up in the picture, but she is on a dark blue background and framed beautifully. She now lives above my sisters bed.
Anyway, that's all I have for you for now. I will hopefully start posting row 3 shortly.

It's looking fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThank you! After seeing a row finish and seeing it all tie together, it really makes a difference!
DeleteShe's beautiful. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThanks Justine! Miles still to go. I can't wait to start her tail.
DeleteWow
ReplyDeleteShe really is looking great!
Beautiful angel finish too.
Have a good week (:
Thanks Sally! The angel is really eye popping in real life. Sadly, the photo doesn't do her justice. The face and hands are stitched 1 over 1, so her face really pops!
DeleteStunning! Love the angel, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Annie! I'm really, really pleased with how she is turning out!
DeleteYou're moving along superfast! Adrift really is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHa! It sure doesn't seem super fast. But she's coming along at a pretty good clip. I'm coming up to a year (January) that I will have been working on her.
DeleteShe looks great, love how you see the waves. Love the Angel too.
ReplyDeleteThanks! The waves are really pretty, aren't they? I didn't enjoy stitching them as much as I enjoy looking at them. But isn't that always the way?
DeleteGreat progress on Adrift, you are doing so well. Peace Angel looks just stunning!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Adrift is definitely ticking right along. In another year I should be half done!
DeleteYou've reached a significant milestone with Adrift and she looks stunning - of course! Hope you enjoy the next row and some brighter colours for her tail! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! End of rows are always cause for celebration, aren't they?
DeleteThe next row I start a bit of the tail. I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait!
(I'm also finishing a row of Winter Hat Owl, although it's all nothing but blue - but still, row finish!)
WOW she is looking great Rai Rai I bet you cant wait to get to do the red on her, she's stunning and so is your Angel, Beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny, because I don't really, REALLY look at her until I have a row finish. That's when I stand back and say wow. Let me tell you, having an extra pair of hands to hold down both corners makes a HUGE difference in photos.
DeleteI'm looking forward to starting row 3.
It's not too shabby at all LOL! It's absolutely stunning, congrats on the row finish wheeeeeeeee! Angel is beautiful too, I bet it looks amazing IRL.

The angel was really, really beautiful in real life. It's too bad the photo's don't really capture her.
DeleteAdrift is on a whole other level of wow. I plan on entering her in my local fair when she's done and framed.
Hi there! Adrift looks great, it's been on my wish list forever and on the last HAED sale I bought it, only to discover how confetti rich it is! I hate HATE confetti, and am not sure if I'd be able to overcome my hate and do this one, but by looking at your progresses i just may force myself!
ReplyDeleteThe angel really looks great, so if the picture looks so great it must be fantastic in real life!
Ciao!
Cinzia
Hey there, Cinzia, I've found the confetti stitch not to be too bad on this one. Not compared to the Treasure Dragon stocking that I did, now that was intense! Do you have the mini or the full size, because if it's the mini, it might be quite a bit more confetti than the regular size. I find, personally, the biggest challenge is the color. They are a bit on the bleak side. But when I stand back and see the entire piece to date, I really do think "wow". And that's how I know it's worth it.
Deletegorgeous stitching :D Also I posted at the end of my post about where I got the cross stitch tiki. Hope you can find one.
ReplyDeleteThanks very much for that, Caitlin! I'll try my best to find one. It will make a great gift!
