Adrift Page 31

Not much of all to see, but it sure was a fast, easy stitch.  Here you see the finished length.  Only 4 more page to go!

As an early Christmas present to myself, I bought myself a Samsung tablet, so I can run Ezpdf Pro on it.  What a difference a device makes.  No more crashing, no more sucking the battery dry in 3 hours.  I don't know why I didn't do this sooner!  Although I did like Goodreader on iPad, I really, REALLY like the search feature on Ezpdf.  I reached out to Goodreader and threw all sorts of suggestions at them from asking if they would consider expanding their search feature to cater to the x-stitchers who use their app to publishing a Goodreader Lite, which focuses on the highlighting and search feature and market it specifically to the stitchers, but no bites, other than polite thank you's.  So, as the saying goes, if you can't beat em, (or convince them to cater to your niche), join 'em.  I'm really hapy with my Samsung.  Honestly, stitching is all that I will be using it for, so I won't suck up battery life using other apps, I will have my iPad for that. And it's given me piece of mind for when I travel, I won't have to worry about my app eating my battery mid-flight.

That's all for now. I'm fighting a cold and a slight ear infection, so it's back to the couch for stitching and cups of tea.  I'm back on Snow, so hopefully I will have an update for you in a few weeks.

  1. Hope you get better soon, I hate getting sick and trying to stitch so good luck with that. Well done on the page finish, you are so close to the end.

    1. Thanks, Angel. The worst was my balance being off. It was like being on a ship that would suddenly shift. Very strange. I did manage to get some good stitching hours in, so there's that!

    1. Thanks, Justine. I did get some good stitching in. I'm already on the 3rd column of Snow, so it's moving quite fast. Quite a bit of confetti, though, so I've had to switch to the parking method.

  3. Hope you feel better!
I love your "Adrift" even more, I am desperately trying to talk myself into it but I'm not sure, I am not a confetti stitch lover and I know on the long run I would put it aside, but boy does it look great!

    1. I'll let you in on a little secret. As far as confetti is concerned, there isn't that much of it. It's one of the lesser confetti pieces I've worked on. Of course that's for the full size. The mini might be another story.

  4. Feel better soon honey. At least you can relax, rest easy and stitch. Lots of tea and toast. Congrats on another page finish, eek only 4 to go. I'm so excited for you. I'm saving up for a Samsung tablet too. I'm over the paper and manually colouring in boxes. Especially when you end the thread and then discover that single symbol that you missed --- D'oh!! Take care of yourself. Looking forward to seeing how you get on with Snow.

    1. Thanks, darlin, I'm already well on the mend. Keep your eye out for sales. I got my Samsung for $200. It's not the latest or fastest, but I only wanted it for stitching, so it suits me fine. It has really helped me catch those rogue stitches that we all seem to miss, no matter how hard we look.

  6. Wow, that page went quick! That's great. And the closeup is marvelous; thank you for spoiling me. :D

Sadly, I can't get my custom charts to search properly and that's all I have in the works right now, so programs or apps or whatever can't help me out there. But I did get ezpdf for my tablet (a Kindle Fire HD) specifically for HAEDs (well, and others but I do seem to have more HAEDs than anything else) because of the search feature. It's great. Hands down though the best one I have found is PDF XChange. Computer only, sadly, but its search capabilities are super amazing! I'm dying to restart my Wanderers Cove working each color a page at a time because it would be so easy.

I think it's really cool of you to offer that feedback to Goodreader. Maybe someday they'll make use of it.

Take care of yourself! Ear infections are no fun at all. Hope you feel better soon.

    1. This page was a super quick stitch. Which is quite nice because I can really motor, and it makes the end that much faster.
If not heard of pDF xChange. I will have to check it out. It's a shame paper copies don't convert well to pdf. I've got a project that I want to work on that's on paper.
