Adrift Page 29 and 30

Apologies on the quality of photo.  She is now so large that I have to lay her out on the floor, unfortunately it doesn't make for the best lighting.  In this photo, she looks a little monochrome, and in reality she is vibrant!  She is also very heavy.  I'm worried she is going to bend my stand.  I now only keep her on the stand when I am going to actively stitch.  You don't really think about how heavy these large projects weigh once you're nearing completion.  I can't imagine the weight of a 99 page pattern.

We have a row finish!  The next row and a partial row is all that is left to do.  86% complete.  Next page I'm hoping to hit 90.  The light is now at the end of a long, dark tunnel.

The stitching for the entire row is going to be fast, because there is so much of dark ocean, which is only about 3-4 colours. Just a tiny bit of tail remains.  I'm so looking forward to having her done. I was going to just stitch her until complete, but I must admit, all of those dark colours leaves me needing to stitch some light colours, so back to Snow I go.   It's just a partial page, so it shouldn't take too long.

When I'm done with Adrift, I promise to lay her out under proper lighting in order to get a good photo.

Hopefully I will have an update of snow in a week or two.

  1. She looks so good. Got to ask do you know what your next head will be yet? When I'm close to a finish its what I keep thinking about.

    1. I've got so many patterns that I want to do, it's just a matter of putting them in some kind of order, and with more being released every day, the order changes all the time.

I probably won't know until the actual day I decide to start. But as for right now, I've narrowed it down to about 5 serious contenders.

  2. She looks stunning! I had never thought about the weight of a project before! I don't blame you for needing a bit of colour in your life but you need all the dark ocean so her tail really stands out.

    1. She is heavy!!! It's something I never really thought of before until I started stripping the screws on my frame trying to tighten it enough to hold her snug. I've so far stripped 4 and counting.
I agree, the dark water is completely necessary to highlight her pretty red tail. It's a lot of 3371 and 938. Snow isn't exactly filled with colour, but she is lighter and it makes for a nice change.
She has much more confetti than the water, though. So give and take on each project. 😊

    1. Thanks. I was so drawn to this one, I almost couldn't breathe when I first saw her on the HaED site.

  4. I'm happy you plan to treat us to nice pictures. Lots, please! Close-ups and details and everything. I love the closer pictures you've posted in the past. They really highlight the gorgeousness.

What does she measure right now? Or, if you don't have a ruler handy to bust out with, what is the finished size going to be? It's so hard to get an idea of the scale when it's not your own project and so you don't see it in comparison to anything else, you know?

    1. Adrift's measurements right now are 19 inches wide (if you are in the US and 48 cm for those who use metric) and about 23 inches high or 58.5 cm. That's how she stands right now. A page is roughly 5 inches, so approx 28 inches high, or thereabout. I'm about to start her last row tonight.
I promise I'll post more closeups. Your wish is my delight.
