I started this page on Feb 18 and finished Mar 17.
It's almost hard for me to put this away in favor of Winter Hat Owl. The urge to continue with her tail is so strong, but take a break I must. I find, for me personally, it's better to stay a little hungry for a pattern, and to always look forward to working on it, than to be bored of it. Plus, the rich, loud colors of the Owl are calling me to come and play.
On a personal note, I got the change to meet a lady whose blog I follow. The lovely Evalina. (If you haven't checked out her blog, you must ) I invited her to our weekly stitch-n-bitch at our local store, the Stitchers Muse, and she was kind enough to join us. It was a real treat meeting her. I hope she becomes a regular face at our table!
For anyone wondering about my stand that I posted in my last update, I've since found out it's a K's Creation stand. From what I can tell, they are very like a Lowry stand. I love it and I find it hard to believe that I stitched for as many years without it.
Well, that's about it for this update. Hopefully it won't be a full month before I have an update for you.
Happy stitching!

She's fabulous! Really looking forward to seeing the tail!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Annie! You and me, both!
DeleteBeautiful piece! Very tranquil, and I love how her the color of her tail is bringing out the piece.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tracy. The tail seems to be an explosion of color for me after a year of stitching all darker colors.
DeleteI'm loving it!
She's beautiful. The tail colours are really changing the whole piece. Congratulations on such great progress.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny, as I was looking at the colors of her tail, they didn't seem as bright as I thought they were going to be. But when I started actually stitching them, their color really came out!
DeleteI went from disappointment to really impressed.
Wow, that red is really vivid. Congrats on another page finish!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it, though! I'm super impressed by it. The urge to just continue stitching only the pages with the tail are super strong, but I won't. I'll continue with my rows. Otherwise I'd have nothing to look forward to!!
DeleteWow fantastic progress. This is a stunning piece. Looking forward to seeing owl again though :)
ReplyDeleteIt's funny, because it doesn't feel like I'm making progress at all, some days. But when I finish a page, I can really see the difference!
DeleteYou're getting close! Those reds are really popping now! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteAt the end of this row I will be officially 1/2 way there!
DeleteSO EXCITED!!!
I'm loving watching your projects at the moment, that looks brilliant!
ReplyDeleteWhy thank you! I'm loving all of the lovely comments. I find it encouraging!
DeleteWhat can I say other that FABULOUS! I'm looking forward to see more of her on April 12th - I'm coming to Muse and I hope you'll be there too ☺
ReplyDeleteEvalina, This and that...
Sad face. I am working the day of the 12th. But I've told Nancy that you are stitching that day, so she will for sure be there.
DeleteLove the tail, you must be happy. Great stitching.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the tail so far! What's hard is not just stitching only the tail, but I know me, and once that tail is done, I won't want to finish all of the humdrum water. So I persevere, one page at a time.
DeleteWhat a difference a splash of colour makes to the whole piece so far. She's looking more gorgeous with every page finish. :)
ReplyDeleteI know, right? I was thinking the colors were all so bleak and monochrome, but now the tail has appeared, it really makes ALL the difference!
DeleteI love your stitching philosophy! You have brilliant will power. She is stunning and yep that tail is going to look amazing as it already is. Beautiful work. xo Alicia
ReplyDeleteWhy thank you! Let me assure you, my brilliant will power comes down to not being able to afford to kit multiple patterns! Plus, I know that stitching is a journey, but I do like to get to the destination and have something to frame and show off, so if I have only 1 or 2 projects, then when I want to stitch, it forces me to work on one or the other. Having multiple patterns would mean I would never, ever, ever finish any of them. I know me too well!
DeleteSo that's my entire stitching philosophy in a nutshell.
Wow, what a wonderful project!
ReplyDeleteLove the owl wip too!
Happy Monday x
Why thank you! It's feeling a bit like the endless project, because I've been at it for over a year and I'm not even half way through the project, but I'm loving it.
