It's nearly Grow Your Blog time.
The big day will be January 25th, but here's the kicker: I will be out of town and completely offline at that time.
So here is what I propose. If anyone decides to follow me, please leave a comment below and I will be sure to follow you back upon my return.
Also, when my blog hits 50 followers, I will do a draw for a prize. Nothing grandiose, but I think whoever wins will like it.
For those of you who would like to participate, see the handy-dandy link right to the right of you. ------> > >
So don't be shy, leave your comments below. I love meeting new people.
I'd also like to add, that this post is 100% black cat approved!

It's hard finding the time when you have so many hobbies on the go, isn't it? That's why I purposely never got too involved in stamping, because I knew it would seriously impede my stitching time!
DeleteBut I do make cards on occasions, and love it!
Your stitching is really great. I did a little cross stitch in high school and I've been eyeing some kits lately. I don't know if I'd get kicked out if I pick up one more hobby, but I doubt it since I'm the only one in the house that does laundry :) It's nice to visit your blog, and I'll be following.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that you do laundry gives you carte blanche to go hobby wild! I say pick up a kit and start stitching! We will cheer you all the way!
DeleteI must admit, I love this photo! He/she looks most relaxed...:)
ReplyDeleteLorraine, he does that whenever I am stitching, which means he does it pretty much nightly! He rests his little face on my lap desk and snoozes, and when he dreams, he suckles, like a kitten. It's really cute!
DeleteHi from a new follower and also a stitcher. Your work is so pretty! I love your kitty picture and it makes me sure miss my 2 black girl kitties, Gertie and Maggie Mae.
ReplyDeleteDonna
Your work is pretty as well! I hope you don't mind me following you!
DeleteI don't stitch I wish I knew how I am seeing so many beautiful things
ReplyDeleteWe could teach you, Jo! It's easy peasy!
DeleteHi, I found you through Grow Your Blog. I have become a follower, and I'm also a cross stitcher. You can find my blog at www.ColourfulCrossStitches.blogspot.ca
ReplyDeleteHello, fellow Canadian (eh?)
DeleteI followed you back!
We actually have quite a bit in common! I have a grandmother-in-law whom I adore who lives in Cambridge, and I am also a one-at-a-time stitcher (although I may be breaking that rule with this ginormous mermaid I have just started, just because I may need to take a break from her.)
I may be in Cambridge over the summer. If I am, perhaps we can meet in a coffee shop for an afternoon of stitching?
A lot of work going into those - nice!
ReplyDeleteLabours of love, all of them!
DeleteI think I am follower number 50! Just found your blog through the GYB party and had to follow you...I stitched Rose of Sharon many years ago and she still hangs at my parents' house to this day. I look forward to seeing yours completed. Adrift is stunning.
ReplyDeleteHi Justine! Did do you a faithful rendition of Rose or did you do your own conversion? She is awfully fun to stitch!
DeleteEnjoy your time off-line. The hop is a lot of fun even if it is slow going. Happy hopping!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right! It is incredibly slow going, but I'm really enjoying all of the blogs!
DeleteHope you have a lot of fun while you are away.love the cat picture and you have some beautiful stitching. Looking forward to your posts.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathy. Do you have a blog of your own? I clicked on your user name, but could only see the blogs that you follow.
Deletehello nice to meet you :D see you when you get back!
ReplyDeleteHi Caitlin! I love your winter angel, it's really pretty!!
DeleteI've followed you, hope you don't mind!
I'm still sluggishly making my way through the long list of blogs! I hope you will repay the favor & check out my redwork/ embroidery blog. (I'm in the 1st group of links on the GYB post.)
ReplyDeleteHope your trip is going well.

Your blog is really neat, and what a great idea for the reindeer.
DeleteIt's incredibly clever!
Your cross stitching is gorgeous you pick the prettiest patterns! I love the mermaid a few posts down. And you work so fast! Love your black cat. I'm a cat lover too, they are just so therapeutic. It has been nice getting to know you.
ReplyDeleteHugs
Caroline
Why thank you! I pick pattern that speak to me in some way. I find then, save the link, and if I keep going back to the pattern again and again, I will usually buy it, when I'm ready to start a new project.
DeleteMy little black cat is a treat! He's a relatively new addition, we adopted him in the summer time. He had been surrendered to the SPCA, declawed. II hate that he has been declawed, and would like to slap the vet who did it, but his old owners loss is my gain. He is a delight! He loves to sit with me while I stitch and hardly ever bats at my threads! (Well almost never... hmmm, pretty regularly, if I'm being perfectly honest!)
Love your patterns and I'm keen to watch your progress. I'm a new follower of yours - visit me at xstitchlibrarian.blogspot.com.au if you're interested.
ReplyDeleteNot only am I interested, but I am now a follower of your blog. Beautiful stitching!

what a cool trip you took! Thanks for sharing the pitures too! Water is Awesome!! (Love your Kitty too!)
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower now....
It was a really need trip! Unfortunately, leaving the black cat for so long was definitely NOT black cat approved, but he soon forgave me.
DeleteWelcome to my blog!!!
I read about your cruise! It sounded like it was just what you needed. Did you stop at St. Thomas? We went on a Caribbean cruise and St. Thomas got my pocketbook with the diamonds. :) New follower. So nice to meet you!
ReplyDeleteI did stop in St. Thomas! We went on a Catamaran tour there and snorkeled at Honeymoon Bay. We saw stingrays AND turtles! I love, love, loved it!
DeleteWe found the best shopping was in St. Maartin. Crazy sales there! My husband and I bought matching Movado watches for $300 for both of them. They usually retail for $500 each. Score! (And no, we didn't get them off of a street vendor, we got them from Diamonds International.)
Where did your cruise stop?

ReplyDeleteWhere in the Pacific Northwest are you? I, too, am in the PNW. Most beautiful place, in my opinion. But you have to love the color green! LOL
DeleteLoving your blog and following you too. Frankly any blog covered in cat hair is good in my book, or at least that's what my cats tell me!
