Adrift, Pages 17 and 18 are Done!

Started May 14 and finished June 5, I am now officially at the halfway mark!

I am delighted at how beautiful she is turning out to be, and I also feel a little daunted that I am only half way there!  Miles and miles to go before I complete.

I am now 52% done.

I wish I had more to say at this point, but I am merely content to just sit back and admire her.

    1. Sage advice, Katie. I've never done a project this big before, and it's definitely taking me a while, but I'm loving it. I really am.
I'm a pretty fast stitcher and I found the Mirabilias, and the Theresa Wentzlers were too fast for me, and I was forever kitting up new projects. It was costing me a fortune!
I love that this is taking me a long time and that it truly is a journey, and, of course, I love the finished outcome. Such beautiful detail!

  5. This is looking simply stunning. Great progress already! I just read your reply to Katie above - do you every sleep?! How can anyone stitch a Mirabilia or Wentzler quickly?!

    1. I work shift work, so when I transition from day shift to night shift, I usually sit up the entire night and stitch - like I'm talking a 12 hour marathon. I get loads and loads done during this time. Because it's the middle of the night, my conscience can't bother me by telling me "you know, there's probably enough for a load of laundry" or "this carpet could use a vacuum. Because the hubby is in bed, the noisy chores can't be done.
The last Wentzler I did was the Oriental Dragon (I think I have photos of him on the blog" He took me just under 4 months. And my Celtic seasons form L&L took me about a month each.

I can only stitch in the evenings, and during our groups stitch'n'bitch, but it's incredible how much you can get done when there are no interruptions.

Tonight will be an all nighter. I'm expecting to get anywhere between 1000 - 1500 stitches done tonight. :-)

  6. Gorgeous, I so love this piece but always worried it would work up a bit dark but those reds are proving me very wrong. I love it!

    1. I had the exactly concerns, Thea. When I first saw the reds on the bobbin, I thought they were going to be too dark and gloomy and this entire piece would be very, really dark. But I'm pleasantly surprised to see that I was wrong. I'm really surprised the tail is as bright as it is. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the bottom of the tail turns out.
