Adrift, Page 9 is Complete

Started August 23rd and finished Sept 8, this page wasn't nearly as exciting as the last page, but it's another piece of the puzzle.

This is a closeup of the page, which shows more of her torso, a bit of her hair and an outline of breast. One of the things that I liked about this pattern was there was nothing covering her breast, no seaweed, or clam shell, just the waves.

This is (a very wrinkled) photo of the entire mermaid so far.

And this is the entire piece to date.

She has been packed away and I will do page 2 of my Winter Hat Owl, now.  Since there is nothing to see (literally nothing) but a blue background, I won't post any photo's until I actually start on the owl itself, which will be approximately 6 pages in.  But working on a background that only has 3 colors is fast.  It gives me a sense of accomplishment, while giving me a nice, bright blue to stare at, after the gloomy colors of Adrift.

It will likely be about 6 weeks before you see another update, but I promise I will continue to expose this picture, a pixel at a time.

    1. Thanks, Sharine. There is nothing that motivates me more than seeing the pattern start to appear.

    1. Thanks, Annie. Working HaED's, you are often stitching for long periods of time before you start to see the picture emerge. It's always such a buzz to see it start to appear.

    1. Thank you! I can't wait to start her tail. Pages and pages away from that, yet, but one stitch at a time, right?

  5. Hi there! My name is Cinzia and I am an HAED maniac too, have so many charts that I'd need a couple of lives all spent stitching to have them all done... This mermaid is on my wishlist since forever, but I am trying to self restrain since I know with all my heart that I'll never be able to actually do it :(
I am currently stitching two HAED, "The Teamakers Daughter" and "Cherished Moments", the latter being dull colored thus getting very little love, but I periodically start something new just to get the thrill, anyways I have decided that, when I get tired of the two big ones, I go and fish out one of the unfinished pieces and try and get it out of the way, hopefully I'll get something done.
Bye, looking forward to see more posts!!!

    1. Hi Cinzia! It's nice to meet a fellow HaED obsessed stitcher. You know, I kind of wish I'd done the mini of this pattern, but it didn't come out until I had two pages done and was already committed to this goliath. But I hear you about needing more than one life to finish stitching all of these! I have 3 lined up to do after this one. The end is so far out of sight, I can't even see the horizon.

I've always been a one pattern at a time, girl, but with a pattern this big, I need to step away from her every now and then. But I know myself too well. If I had too many patterns on the go, nothing would ever get finished. Kudos to those of you who can juggle multiples!

Welcome to my page. I will check yours out and follow you!

    1. Thanks! I'm currently taking a break and stitching a page of Winter Owl, and would you believe I'm half way done the page already? I should be back to stitching Adrift by early next week, if I keep this pace up.
