Rose of Sharon Update

So this project seems to be ticking right along.   I did have to change her hair as she was originally supposed to be blonde, however, the yellow hair combined with the yellow roses really didn't stand out, so I changed her to a brunette.

The dress is looking beautiful so far.  I think the periwinkle colors are going to look magnificent, and once I'm all done, I will post the conversion colors. I'm really happy with the conversion so far.

I am fighting the beginning stages of a cold/flu, whatever it is. I feel prickly and very, very run down.
But if I am going to get sick, let it be now, as I have holidays in less than a month and I want this to have run its course by then.

In any case, dear kindred stitchers, Happy Holidays to you all, whatever you may celebrate, and may you be surrounded by family and friends, (and a present, or two).

    1. Thanks Cheryl. I'm actually feeling a bit better today. I'm hoping my body is strong enough to fight this off, and it doesn't really materialize into anything.

      Fingers crossed.

    1. Thank you! I think out of all the Mirabilia's, this is the one that gets converted the most. There are some truly stunning versions. I was original going to do her in dark purple and red roses, but if really fell in love with the periwinkle. So far I'm really happy with her.
I'm feeling much better, too! It's amazing how much good a couple of really good nights of sleep can do.
      Welcome to my blog!

    1. Why helloooo!
Thanks! I think the conversion is going really well too. I'm really happy that I decided on these colors and not the deep purples that I was originally going to try. I think they might have been too vibrant.

I'm feeling much better and I have to stay well, because I'm leaving on a cruise in less than a month. MUST.NOT.GET.SICK!

    3. I got sick. Really sick. Like I'm sniffling, coughing, od'ing on cough syrup and generally feeling completely and utterly sorry for myself.

3 weeks should be enough time to shake this. I just keep telling myself, better now than the day before my trip!

  5. Hi stunner
Sorry to hear your feeling poorly at the moment. I hope you get better before your holidays, there is nothing worse than being sick on your own time. I love the new colours you have chosen for your Sharon. I looked up the original chart and completely agree with that yellow dress and blonde hair it really doesn't pop. Love your version it looks so effective. Beautiful stitching.
    Have a fantastic New Year!
    xoxo Alicia

    1. I'm DYING! DYING, Alicia! New Years plans effectively cancelled.
On the up side, unlimited stitching time! And at least I'm getting sick now, where I have 3 weeks to shake this. It should be plenty.

I'm really enjoying this conversion so far. I wish more people would do them and post their conversions. They are lots of fun to do!
