Who's a Stitching Maniac? Why, me!

Page 2 is done!!!!  Even though I started a job that kept me pretty busy this month, I managed to stitch like a maniac.  Although, to be fair, page two had a lot of patches of one color - a rarity in Heaven and Earth Designs

But page 2 was started on Jan11 and finished officially Jan 31.  Go me!

His greedy little face is slowing starting to appear!

I have been waiting and waiting for a pattern to come in so I can break my own "one pattern at a time" rule and start a second, far quicker project.  My best friend had a baby oh... about a month ago now, and even though I ordered an afghan and book "Forest Babies" from my local store back in November, there always seemed to be a hold up.  Finally the book came in - only to find the wrong one had been ordered.  Admittedly, Jungle Babies are adorable, but I live in the Pacific Northwest and Forest Babies actually jive with the types of animals we have right outside our door, and it just has more meaning.  I didn't want to wait another 3 months for an order to come in, so I ordered from 123stitch, which actually had the pattern in stock. Hopefully it will be here this week, and I've heard that the afghan was shipped a week ago Tuesday.

I'm going to have to make it in record time, because I so far haven't bought her anything! I feel like such a bad friend.  I usually knit a baby blanket for my friends when they have babies, but she knits circles around me, so an afghan x-stitch it is!  My next pattern after Treasure Dragon will also be for her boy.  Wouldn't you know, she picked a Heaven and Earth Design.  Normally I do Christmas stockings for babies first Christmas, but she is Jewish.  Sooooo, not really applicable there.  I know I'm going to be doing Heaven and Earth designs until at least summer, and maybe beyond.

I'm not complaining though. I love big projects, and if I can make it for someone who I love dearly, then even better!

Well, it's on to page 3.  I hope it goes as fast as page 2.

Wish me luck, my fellow kindreds!

    1. I do! That's unusual for me. I usually focus on one project and don't even allow myself to even entertain the thought of another project until the current one is nearing completion.

It's definitely a HaED year for me. Next is "Fly" for my best friend's boy, and after that is Adrift, for me. All of them are huge projects too. What on earth have I committed myself to? *wibbles*

    1. Hi Emma/Itzy! Welcome!

Thanks for the "Sewandso" tip. I will google it later today when I have a little more time. I am always looking for good online supply shops to add to my list.

Did you stitch "Sea Babies"? Do you have any photo's? I'd LOVE to see them!

    1. Hi Kaiseivic! Welcome!

Thanks! I'm a bit in awe myself at how fast it's going. I think I may have just hit my stride with HaED. The first one - the Fairy stocking - took me absolutely ages just to finish one page.

I'm LOVING HaED. I may never go back to the old fav's like Mirabilia and Lav & Lace.

    1. Thanks, my friend! I've been able to dedicate some serious blocks of time to it.

You know what's funny though? It makes more sense AFTER I see it in a photo. In real life, it just kind of looks like randomly placed dots of colors. Strange, huh? I'm sure once the face is complete, it will come together more.

And I just received word that the Afghan is here. Now I'm just waiting for the book. Hopefully it comes next week. Yay!

    1. Hi Meggie and welcome!

Thanks for the kind words towards my wip. My afghan has arrived at the store and I'll be picking it up tomorrow, and my pattern should be arriving this week. I'm so excited.

I will, of course, post photos as the project progresses.

    1. Thanks Deb. I have to be honest and say I was only fast because there were lots of one color blocks. I'm sure when I get back into the body of the dragon, I will be slowing right down to a trickle again.

I hope my pattern comes tomorrow!!! 123 STitch is usually super fast, so I'm sure it will be here within the next 2 days. I'm really hesitating on getting stuck into page 3 because I just want to start this project so bad!

I picked up the afghan today. It's so soft. It should be perfect for baby!
