Page 3 of Dragon Treasure is Done

In what has to be record time, I have managed to finish a page of my Dragon Treasure stocking in exactly 10 days.  Go me!!!!

A bit more of his face is revealed, and some of the lovely red of his wings can now be seen.  I'm afraid my next page will take far longer, because there aren't nearly as many patches of one colors, but rather the usual HaED, which is one stitch of a color here, not to be repeated until eight grids later.

Apologies for the wrinkles in the cloth, he had literally just come off of the Q-snap.

But this is where I take a hiatus from this project for THIS one:

This is for my best friend, and it shouldn't take me that long to complete at all.  I will post each square as I finish it.

I should be back to stitching my dragon in a couple of weeks.  I think this will be a nice break from the teeny tiny stitches of HAED.  I think my eyes are going to thank me.

    1. Ha! I've so far broken three needles on this project so far! Apparently I'm hard on my needles.

Thanks for the link to your blog. Hope you don't mind if I follow you.

    1. Thanks! I actually did a few stitches on the afghan tonight. It's actually more difficult than I thought as the afghan is made out of thick polyester that actually resembles wool. I'm finding it difficult to create a nice even X with my stitches. Not to mention the polyester sheds. It's like trying to stitch with a cat on my lap. So far I'm not impressed.

Tomorrow I will give it an honest effort and see what I think.

    1. Thanks Sharine. I stayed up until nearly 3 am to fish that page, then blogged about it, then crawled into bed at about 3:30, only to be called at 6am for a 12 hour shift that started at 7 am. Suffice to say, no stitching tonight, only sleeeeeeeeep.

  5. Hi Maggie, thanks for your kind words. I think it's the perfect time to take a break from the dragon and work on something bright, vibrant and large!

I'll keep you posted on my progress.

  7. Your dragon is coming along nicely, good for you! I hope the afghan works out for you. I have one I want to do eventually, I wonder if it's the same type of material.

    1. You likely do. A long time ago I did an afghan that was made of Aida. It was super easy to work on, but I will be damned if I can find it again. Even EBay is letting me down and Ebay NEVER let's me down.

In any case when you do de IDE to start your afghan use 3 strands. I've found that extra strand makes all the difference.
